The California Courts’ website features professionally produced educational videos for jurors in which the Chief Justice of California, Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye ’84, and Professor Carlton F.W. Larson play prominent roles.

The chief justice stars in “Justice for All: Orientation to Jury Service,” which features judges, academics and former jurors explaining what to expect when called to jury service.

Larson appears in “A History of Jury Service: A More Perfect Jury,” which explores the jury service from its beginning in English common law.

Larson shot his interview segments at the Stockton courthouse last fall.

Carlton Larson's research interests focus on constitutional law and legal history. One of the nation’s leading authorities on the law of treason, Professor Larson is the author of the ABA Silver Gavel Award finalist books The Trials of Allegiance: Treason, Juries, and the American Revolution (Oxford University Press, 2019) and On Treason: A Citizen’s Guide to the Law (Ecco/HarperCollins, 2020).
