Chacon Comments on Schwarzenegger as Vice President
Jennifer Chacón, an acting professor of law with special interests in criminal procedure and constitutional law, commented on KOVR Channel 13 News on recent speculation that Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger may have future hopes for the United States vice-presidency.
"According to Chacón, the constitution did not originally say anything about the requirements for vice president, but the 12th amendment to the constitution ratified in 1804 specifies that vice presidents have to meet the same constitutional requirements as presidents."
The Constitution states: "No person constitutionally ineligible to the office of president shall be eligible to that of vice president of the United States." Chacón says the law is clear.
