Brendan O'Neill '75 Appointed to Head Delaware Public Defender's Office

Delaware Governor Jack Markell has nominated Brendan O'Neill '75 to head the state's Public Defender's Office.  Pending confirmation of the state senate, he will take over for the retiring Larry Sullivan in June.

O'Neill worked in California as a Deputy District Attorney in the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, an Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney's Office in Los Angeles, and for 14 years as the founder and principal of a private law firm specializing in criminal defense before joining the Delaware Attorney General's Office in 1993.  He has been with the Delaware Office of the Public Defender since 1995.
