Asha Jennings '09 Joins Murphy Austin Adams Schoenfeld

Asha Jennings '09 has joined Murphy Austin Adams Schoenfeld as an associate attorney.  The Sacramento firm, which focuses on the core areas of business and real estate transactions, healthcare, construction, labor and employment law, and tax and commercial litigation.  Jennings joins the firm's Healthcare Team, where her practice will focus on the representation of healthcare providers in payment disputes with managed care payers.

Prior to attending King Hall, Jennings gained experience in the pharmaceutical industry, developing communications for a vaccine research and development organization, and she has served on a board which ensured scientific, regulatory, and legal compliance of communications before submission to the Food and Drug Administration.  As a law student, she worked as a legal research assistant, where she worked on healthcare law and reproductive rights issues. She also served as a legal intern at the UC Davis Immigration Law Clinic, where she drafted, filed and argued motions on behalf of clients, including a Writ of Habeas Corpus that resulted in a published decision by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Jennings was recognized with the Best Brief award in the 2009 George Washington University National Religious Freedom Moot Court Competition and she served as the Marketing Chair of the Journal of International Law and Policy from 2007 to 2008. She was awarded the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Administrative Law in 2007.
