Alumnae Named Top Women Litigators
Kathleen V. Fisher '76 and Joan Mei Haratani '84 were named among the top women litigators in California in the September 13th edition of the Daily Journal, which is one of the most respected and widely read daily legal newspapers in the state. This prestigious award recognizes women who have exemplified leadership in the legal community and who have made profound achievements in litigation.
Kathleen Fisher is a partner in Calvo & Clark's San Francisco office and is engaged in general business litigation and trial practice, including complex cross-border litigation and class actions involving consumers, Title VII, and ERISA. Fisher also has extensive experience in real property, professional liability, fiduciary, international, and ADR-related litigation. She has tried many jury and non-jury cases, including consumer class actions and unfair competition, criminal defense, labor and probate matters.
Joan Haratani is a partner with Morgan Lewis in the litigation practice in the San Francisco office. She has an extensive trial and pretrial practice, with an emphasis on products liability and commercial disputes. For the last few years, she was the lead lawyer in a high-exposure products liability case involving a food product. She was also a member of a national litigation strategy team for a Fortune 100 company. In her 20 years of practice, Joan has handled all phases of pretrial and trial proceedings.
