Alumna Appointed Executive Director of Disability Law Center
Virginia Knowlton '02 was recently named as the executive director of the Maryland Disability Law Center. Knowlton is a career disability rights advocate and former executive director of the Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Foundation in Washington. She also worked for a decade at Protection & Advocacy Inc. in California, most recently as director of public policy. Knowlton's "extensive background in disability rights issues will advance MDLC in its mission to ensure that individuals with disabilities are afforded the full rights, protections, and entitlements accorded to them by state and federal law," the directors said in a prepared statement.
