Adam Mizock '01 Participates in Work/Life Balance Conference
Adam Mizock '01 was a panelist at the Bar Association of San Francisco's (BASF) Work/Life Balance Conference on September 21, 2006. One of the primary initiatives for BASF this year was to study work/life balance issues. At the conference, the BASF Work/Life Balance Task Force released a survey of legal employers, summarizing what employers offer attorneys in terms of leave options, part time, and other work/life balance policies and practices and how many people took advantage of the offerings.
Mizock joined Barclays Global Investors (BGI) in September 2005 as a Principal in the U.S. Legal Department. He works primarily with BGIs registered fund business (mutual funds and exchange-traded funds). Prior to joining BGI, Adam worked in Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker's investment management practice. At Paul Hastings he provided counsel primarily to registered open-end and closed-end funds, investment advisers, hedge funds, and broker-dealers.
Mizock obtained a law degree from the UC Davis School of Law, where he received Order of the Coif recognition for his academic achievement. Prior to law school, Adam was a senior consultant in KPMG's public sector consulting practice. He obtained a Master's Degree in Government Administration from the Fels Center of Government at the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy from Vassar College.
