Cost of Attendance

Average Student Costs

The UC Davis School of Law Student Expense Budget covers the nine-month academic year only and represents the average costs for a single, first-year law student living off-campus. Students who are married, have dependents, or other special circumstances, should contact Financial Aid for a personalized review of the standard budget. Please note financial aid is not available for the summer or any other period of non-enrollment, students should access other resources to cover expenses during these times.

Tuition and mandatory fees have been set regardless of the method of instruction and will not be refunded in the event instruction occurs remotely for any part of the Academic Year.

2 All students must have valid health insurance and are automatically enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) at an annual cost of $5,193. Students who have comparable insurance can apply for a SHIP waiver that will reduce the cost of attendance by $5,193. California Residency
