Professor Shanske Talks to S.F. Chronicle About Stanford's Big Tax Hit

Professor Darien Shanske spoke to the San Francisco Chronicle for an Aug. 21 story about how Stanford is the only university in California that will pay hundreds of millions in taxes under the national spending bill that President Donald Trump signed into law in July.

Shanske called the tax expectations on Stanford “preposterous.”

Darien Shanske is a Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law at UC Davis. His academic interests include taxation, particularly state and local taxation, local government law, public finance, and political theory, particularly jurisprudence.
