Professor Johnson Talks to CalMatters About Border Patrol Sweeps
Professor Kevin R. Johnson was quoted in an April 2 article in CalMatters, "Federal judge: Continued Border Patrol sweeps in California violated court order."
Judge Jennifer Thurston of the Eastern District of California last year ordered Border Patrol agents to stop making illegal immigration enforcement stops and arrests. Thurston wrote in a decision unsealed earlier this month that agents continued this practice and “again detained people without reasonable suspicion.”
