King Hall’s Environmental Externship allows students to earn academic credit in the fall and spring semesters in a variety of environmental law settings. Past placements have included state and federal agencies, and nonprofits, including Earthjustice and the Sierra Club.
All externships have two components: (1) Field supervisors oversee assignments and provide feedback for students to build their legal skills and knowledge, and (2) students complete professional development assignments under the supervision of a King Hall faculty advisor. Approved placements may be in-person, hybrid or remote.
