Bio

Tina Combs has over 30 years of complex business, technology and real estate experience. She has held director and leadership positions on private company and public institution boards, including ReNew Solar, a renewable energy company, and a 12-year governor appointment to the UC Hastings, law school Board of Directors. Most recently, she served as system-wide Deputy General Counsel, Business and Land Use, for the University of California. As chief counsel for business and land use, she led a 30+ person legal team responsible for advising The Regents, the UC President, and other senior leadership on the most complex business transactions throughout the University system. Prior to joining UC, Ms. Combs was a 15-year veteran and managing attorney at Wells Fargo, where she partnered with senior executives on business and strategic initiatives, including creating strategic alliances, launching groundbreaking technologies such as online banking, and acting as lead counsel on payment systems, joint ventures and other complex transactions. Ms. Combs began her career at Morrison & Foerster, working primarily in emerging technologies and telecommunications in the firm's business department. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
