Bio

Clarisa P. Sudarma is a Legal Research and Writing instructor. After more than a decade of practice at Solano County Counsel's Office, she joined UC Davis in 2024 to pursue teaching full time. She previously served as a part-time visiting lecturer at UC Davis beginning in 2019. 

At Solano County Counsel's Office, Clarisa provided both advisory and civil litigation legal services for several County departments, special districts, and/or affiliated agencies; their associated elected officials; appointed boards; and commissions. Her assignments have included conducting certification review hearings as a hearing officer for those involuntarily committed to mental health institutions under the  Lanterman–Petris–Short Act, representing the Behavioral Health Department, the Child Welfare Department in trial and appellate matters, the Department of Resource Management with regards to violations of the County code, the Solano County Office of Education with regards to general governance advice, and the Sheriff's Department with regards to Pitchess motions. In 2017, she was designated a Child Welfare Law Specialist by the National Association of Counsel accredited by the American Bar Association and the California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization for her enhanced level of knowledge, skills, and expertise in juvenile law.
