Deadline
Deadline: January 11, 2024
Eligibility

The Law in Technology Diversity (LiTD) Collaborative is excited to offer first-year law students a paid summer associate position split between a legal department at a major technology company and a leading law firm in the San Francisco Bay, Los Angeles, or Boston area. Our program offers students an enriching summer experience with rare in-house tech company experience, while also creating a pipeline for companies and firms to cultivate and advance diverse talent. We aim to build a strong community of LiTD alumni who support one another in their careers. There is also a possibility of some summer positions that are entirely in-house.

While all are welcome to apply, we encourage applications from students that are traditionally underrepresented in legal leadership on the basis of race, gender, gender orientation, disability, socioeconomic status, veteran status, or other such groups. Students with any GPA are eligible to apply, although most students who have been admitted to our program had a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. An interest in practicing law in the tech industry, either in-house or at a firm, is a plus.

At the tech companies, LiTD summers will immerse themselves in the inner workings of an in-house legal department and experience first-hand a mix of complex legal, regulatory, compliance, and public policy issues faced by tech companies in their respective industry sectors, all while working alongside a talented and lively in-house legal team. At the law firm, LiTD summers will have the opportunity to participate in a rich mix of client projects, training programs, social activities, pro bono assignments, and community service initiatives. Importantly, LiTD also offers its own summer programming for LiTD summers and alums to meet, learn, and network.
