Eligibility

To promote diversity in the legal profession and provide financial support to law students from underrepresented backgrounds, Fenwick offers scholarships and the opportunity to join us as summer associates to 1L law students. We offer scholarships in our offices in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Seattle, and New York for 1L students who belong to historically underrepresented groups in the legal profession (based on their race, ethnicity, gender identity, or sexual orientation) or who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our Scholars will spend a minimum of 8 weeks of their summer following their 1L year working as a Fenwick summer associate. At the end of the summer, each Scholar will be eligible for an offer to return the following summer as one of our 2L summer associates (and the opportunity to join us after graduation), contingent upon their 1L law school grades, work evaluations, and performance feedback. The total scholarship award that is available is up to $40,000 for each recipient.
