Visiting Professor Wins Seat on School Board
Tim Taylor, a visiting professor at UC Davis School of Law, won a seat on the Davis school board in Tuesday's election. Taylor, a successful land use attorney, has taught courses at Davis in land use and the California Environmental Quality Act.
Taylor was the top vote-getter, winning 10,294 votes out of 20,503 ballots cast. He campaigned on issues that included rebuilding trust between the school district and the community, addressing achievement and test score gaps, embracing difference and recruiting more diverse teachers and administrators, and developing safety nets for at-risk youth.
