USF School of Law's annual Pemberton Lecture features Professor Saucedo

On March 30, Professor Leticia Saucedo and former UC Davis faculty member Angela Onwuachi-Willig -- now dean of Boston University School of Law -- co-presented University of San Francisco School of Law's 16th annual Jack Pemberton Lecture on Workplace Justice.

Their topic was “Superstars, Underrepresented Minorities, and Candidate Pools in Hiring.” The presentation examined how superstar minority candidates face unique forms of discrimination in hiring. They also offered advice about ways to build diverse candidate pools, how to avoid the "pedigree bias," and the value of focusing on candidates' own commitment to diversity to counter-balance biased hiring practices. 

Leticia Saucedo is a professor of law at UC Davis School of Law, and an expert in employment, labor, and immigration law. 

Onwuachi-Willig spoke as part of UC Davis School of Law's Racial Justice Speaker Series in October.
