UC Davis School of Law Ranks High in National Surveys

The UC Davis School of Law faculty received its highest rating ever from legal educators and professionals participating in the U.S. News and World Report rankings, placing 23rd in the peer assessment category of the magazine's 2014 edition "Best Law Schools."

King Hall also rated 23rd in the most recent comprehensive faculty quality assessment undertaken by University of Chicago Law Professor Brian Leiter, who has written that the King Hall faculty has "improved significantly in the last generation" and is now "solidly top 25."  Leiter's periodic assessment of law faculty productivity and influence, as measured by the number of faculty citations over a five-year period, is widely regarded as the single most systematic evaluation of American law school quality.

The King Hall faculty has an outstanding record of consistent publication in the nation's most-cited legal periodicals. Recent months have seen articles published or accepted for publication in Georgetown Law Journal, Stanford Technology Law Review, Harvard Latino Law Review, Villanova Law Review, Tax Law Review, State Tax Notes, Iowa Law Review, Minnesota Law Review, Michigan State University Law Review, Immigration Law & Nationality Review, American Journal of Legal History, North Carolina Law Review, Columbia Law Review, Stanford Law & Policy Review, American University Law Review, and Berkeley Journal of Gender, Law and Justice, among many others.
