UC Davis School of Law nominated for national diversity award

UC Davis School of Law is among the law schools nominated for the CLEO EDGE Award for Diversity, the Council on Legal Education Opportunity, Inc., (CLEO) has announced.

CLEO also recognized UC Davis Law Fellow Elisa Shieh ’17, with a nomination for CLEO’s diversity award for individuals, for her volunteer work with Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach.

CLEO is a nonprofit dedicated to diversifying the legal profession by expanding legal education opportunities for people from traditionally underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, and low-income and disadvantaged communities.

CLEO will cap its yearlong celebration of its 50th anniversary with a gala in November in Washington, D.C., at which the top 50 finalists from different CLEO awards categories (education, diversity and greater equality) will be honored.

UC Davis School of Law ranks among the top 10 most diverse law schools in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report. It is the only law school in U.S. News’ overall top 40 to crack the top 10 in diversity.
