UC Davis Law Review Symposium Draws Coverage in SF Chronicle
The UC Davis Law Review hosted a successful symposium on "Corruption and Compliance: Promoting Integrity in a Global Economy" on January 23. The event, which drew coverage from the San Francisco Chronicle, included a keynote address from Jay Jorgenson, Senior Vice President and Global Chief Compliance Officer for Walmart, and well as opening remarks from Dean Kevin R. Johnson, and panels moderated by Professors Robert Hillman, Anupam Chander, and Afra Afsharipour.
The Chronicle report examines issues discussed at the symposium, including how American companies are dealing with implications of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977 as new technologies are driving increased international commerce. The article focuses on Walmart's anti-corruption training and compliance programs and includes remarks from Jorgenson's keynote address.
