UC Davis Law Faculty Ranks 24th in Scholarly Impact
UC Davis School of Law faculty placed 24th in a new ranking of scholarly influence published by faculty at the University of St. Thomas School of Law (Gregory Sisk et al.). The authors employed University of Chicago Law School Professor Brian Leiter's established methodology of assessing the "scholarly impact" of law schools as measured by the number of faculty citations over a five-year period. In previous rankings by Leiter, the UC Davis law faculty has consistently placed in the top 25.
The School of Law placed similarly high in the assessments by legal educators and practitioners for the most recent U.S. News & World Report ranking of law schools, ranking 24th in the scores given by lawyers and judges and 25th in the assessments made by deans and professors at other law schools.
The UC Davis law faculty's high ranking is a reflection of an outstanding record of consistent publication in the nation's most-cited legal periodicals.
