Tax Expert Professor Simmons Interviewed for San Francisco Chronicle

UC Davis School of Law Professor Daniel L. Simmons was interviewed for a July 3 story in the San Francisco Chronicle titled, "Anti-tax tea party protests planned for Fourth."

The news article was a preview of anti-tax rallies scheduled for Independence Day.  Rally organizers said they are frustrated with government intervention in private business, citing the bank bailouts as an example.

"It's long-standing conservative agenda that they're putting forward," said Professor Simmons, adding that the U.S. is "a low-tax country. If they're concerned about the growing debt, they should be advocating higher taxes."

Daniel L. Simmons is a UC Davis Professor of Law and a national expert on tax law, with an emphasis on corporate and partnership taxation.
