In Statewide Meeting, Professor Frank Addresses Future of Federal Clean Water Act

On Oct. 21, Professor Rick Frank spoke to a statewide meeting of members of the State Water Resources Control Board and California’s nine Regional Water Quality Control Boards. 

Frank’s topic was “The Federal Clean Water Act: the Next 50 Years.”  In his remarks, he addressed a variety of topics including the need for the Clean Water Act—enacted a half-century ago—to be updated to address critical, 21st century challenges such as climate change and environmental justice concerns.
