State Senate Confirms Professor Bhagwat for California Independent System Operator Board

In a 33-0 vote, the California Senate confirmed Governor Jerry Brown's re-appointment of Professor Ashutosh Bhagwat to a second three-year term on the California Independent System Operator Board of Governors. The California ISO oversees operation of the state's power grid. Professor Bhagwat was first appointed to serve on its governing board in May 2011.

Professor Bhagwat is an innovative, broad-ranging, and widely published constitutional law scholar.
