In Slate Op-Ed and on Podcast, Professor Joh Addresses Potential Roe Reversal

Professor Elizabeth Joh addressed the potential reversal of Roe v. Wade in an opinion piece for Slate.com and on her podcast, What Roman Mars Can Learn About Con Law.

In the May 9 Slate article, headlined “The Potential Overturn of Roe Shows Why We Need More Digital Privacy Protections,” Joh writes that “the likely end of Roe isn’t just about losing control over our bodies; it emphasizes how much control we’ve lost over our digital selves.”

On May 3, just after the leaked Supreme Court draft was first reported, Joh and podcast co-host Roman Mars released a special episode, “The Leaked Draft,” that addressed how the leaked opinion threatens to strike down the right to abortion and potentially many other rights.

Professor Joh's scholarship focuses on criminal procedure and policing, with a special emphasis on DNA evidence, undercover policing, and new surveillance technologies. She is the recipient of King Hall’s 2017 Distinguished Teaching Award.
