Slate, CNN, KQED Quote Professor Ziegler on Various Post-Roe Developments

Professor Mary Ziegler, a leading expert on the history of the U.S. abortion debate, spoke to Slate for an Oct. 2 story about how law professors across the country are grappling with recent rulings by the U.S. Supreme Court, including the June reversal of Roe v. Wade in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.

Ziegler talked to CNN for a Sept. 21 report on male legislators and politicians who are taking a no-exceptions, hardline approach to abortion bans, with some calling for prison time for women who undergo the procedure.

Ziegler contributed to a Sept. 29 KQED report on California’s Proposition 1, which would enshrine abortion and contraception access into the state Constitution.

Mary Ziegler is an expert on the law, history, and politics of reproduction, health care, and conservatism in the United States from 1945 to the present. She is one of the world’s leading historians of the U.S. abortion debate.
