Senior Associate Dean Afsharipour Presents for National Association of Women Lawyers

Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Afra Afsharipour presented her research on women in mergers and acquisitions to the National Association of Women Lawyers on Dec. 1. Hosted by NAWL Women in Corporate Transactions, the virtual discussion was titled “Women in M&A: A Deeper Look and Discussion on Closing the Gender Gap.”

Afsharipour’s article “Women and M&A” (forthcoming, UC Irvine Law Review) has drawn widespread attention to the dearth of women among senior mergers and acquisitions lawyers.

Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor Afra Afsharipour’s areas of research include comparative corporate law and governance, mergers and acquisitions, and transactional law.  Her scholarship has appeared in numerous law reviews, including the Columbia Law Review, the Minnesota Law Review, the Vanderbilt Law Review, and the UC Davis Law Review.
