Schwartz, President of Board of Trustees of Yolo County Law Library

Professor of Law Emeritus Mortimer Schwartz was elected president of Board of Trustees of the Yolo County Law Library. Since its establishment in 1895, the Yolo County Law Library has been a free public library for use by the judiciary, State and County officials, members of the State Bar, and all residents of Yolo County. Its purpose is to provide sources of law while keeping overhead costs for legal services lower. Additionally, it represents an often unheralded aspect of life in a working democracy which allows its citizens to know the law and to use it for their own safety and protection. The Library is governed by a seven member Board of Trustees consisting of Yolo County judges and attorneys.

Schwartz served as UC Davis School of Law librarian from 1965 to 1991.
