Research by Professor Soucek Cited by Federal Court in New York
Professor Brian Soucek's article "Perceived Homosexuals: Looking Gay Enough for Title VII" was cited and quoted this week by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
In Roberts v. United Parcel Service, __ F. Supp. 3d ____, 2015 WL 4509994 (E.D.N.Y. July 27, 2015), Judge Jack Weinstein of the Brooklyn-based court referenced Professor Soucek's research in his discussion of the expanded protection courts and administrative agencies have recently given gays and lesbians under federal employment discrimination law.
Professor Soucek's article was recognized with a 2015 Dukeminier Award, given by the Williams Institute at UCLA to the best articles on sexual orientation law published during the previous year.
