Professors Villazor, Pruitt, Saucedo Present at UCLA School of Law Symposium
UC Davis School of Law Professors Rose Cuison Villazor, Lisa R. Pruitt, and Leticia Saucedo made presentations at UCLA School of Law during the Critical Race Studies symposium celebrating the 20th anniversary of "Whiteness as Property," an article by UCLA School of Law Professor Cheryl Harris published in Harvard Law Review in 1993. The symposium was held on October 2-4, 2014.
"Professor Villazor presented "(White) Citizenship as Property" as part of the plenary panel entitled "Whiteness as Property and Contemporary Civil Rights Debate." Professor Villazor also participated in a roundtable on "Whiteness as Property and Multiracial Identity." Professor Pruitt served as moderator and panelist for a discussion of "Whitness as Property and the Construction of Identities." Professor Saucedo was a panelist for a discussion entitled, "But What about Me? Entitlement and Racial Identity."
