Professors Joo, Sarkar speak at 'Lehman 10 Years later' conference in Chicago

Professors Thomas Joo and Shayak Sarkar spoke at “Lehman 10 Years Later: Lessons Learned?”,a conference at Loyola University Chicago School of Law that marked the 10th anniversary of Lehman Brothers’ bankruptcy filing, an event that augured the Great Recession.
Joo addressed the rollback of the 2010 Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. Sarkar spoke about the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Other speakers included former Congressman Barney Frank (co-author of the Dodd-Frank bill) and the Hon. Jed Rakoff of the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York.
Thomas Joo, Martin Luther King, Jr. professor at UC Davis School of Law, specializes in the areas of corporate governance and race and the law.
Shayak Sarkar's scholarship addresses the structure and legal regulation of inequality. His substantive interests lie in financial regulation, employment law, immigration and taxation.
