Professors Joh, Ikemoto Speak at Stanford Symposium
Professor Joh moderated a panel discussion of "Parenting and the Criminal Justice System" that featured Patricia Allard, Policy Research Lawyer at the African Canadian Legal Clinic; Robin Levi, Human Rights Director, Justice Now; and Karen Shain, Co-Director, Legal Services for Prisoners with Children. Professor Ikemoto was part of a panel discussion on "Emerging Technologies of Parenthood" that also included Rocio L. Córdoba, Co-Founder and Executive Director, California Latinas for Reproductive Justice; Sujatha Jesudason, Executive Director, Generations Ahead; and moderator Dorothy Roberts, Kirkland and Ellis Professor of Law, Northwestern Law.
Lisa Ikemoto teaches bioethics and health law courses at the UC Davis School of Law. She has written extensively on genetic and reproductive technology, the regulation of fertility and pregnancy, and race and gender disparities in health care. Her current work examines emerging issues in regenerative medicine, including stem cell research, and the human tissues market.
Elizabeth Joh researches in the areas of criminal law and procedure. She has special interests in the fields of policing, criminal justice privatization, and the sociology of law.
