Professors Ikemoto, Horton Speak to Estate Planning Council of Diablo Valley

Professors Lisa Ikemoto and David Horton gave a presentation on "The New Biology: What Estate Planners Need to Know about Assisted Reproduction," at the October 15 meeting of the Estate Planning Council of Diablo Valley in Lafayette, California.  The organization, which is the largest estate planning council in the Bay Area, meets monthly to provide educational and networking opportunities for practitioners of estate planning and related professions.

Lisa Ikemoto teaches bioethics and health law courses at the UC Davis School of Law. She has written extensively on genetic and reproductive technology, the regulation of fertility and pregnancy, and race and gender disparities in health care. Her current work examines emerging issues in regenerative medicine, including stem cell research, and the human tissues market.

Professor Horton joined the King Hall faculty in 2012 to teach in the area of Trusts, Wills, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. He earned his law degree at UCLA, where he graduated Order of the Coif in 2004 and served as Chief Articles Editor of the UCLA Law Review.  He then practiced at the law firm of Morrison & Foerster and clerked for the Honorable Ronald M. Whyte of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.  He has also taught as Loyola Law School and UC Berkeley School of Law.
