Professor Villazor Honored with Filipino Bar Association of Northern California Trailblazer Award

Professor Rose Cuison Villazor will receive the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California (FBANC) Trailblazer Award at the organization's Annual Installation Dinner set for June 5 in San Francisco. The award honors an individual who has positively impacted the legal community, who supports the FBANC mission, and is considered a trailblazer. As the recipient of the award, Professor Villazor will give the keynote address.  Previous keynote speakers have included Congressman Mike Honda (2014), California Assembly Member Rob Bonta (2013), and Bill Tamayo '78 (2012), Regional Attorney for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, San Francisco District.

Professor Rose Cuison Villazor joined the UC Davis faculty in 2012 from the Maurice A. Deane Law School at Hofstra University.  She also has taught at Columbia Law School and the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.  Professor Villazor teaches and writes in the areas of property law, immigration law, critical race theory, Asian American legal history, and citizenship.
