Professor Ventry Cited on Mortgage Interest Deduction in CSM

Professor Dennis J. Ventry, Jr. was cited in a news article in the Christian Science Monitor on mortgage-interest tax deduction.  The article discusses recent calls from the bipartisan Debt Commission to replace the deduction with a more targeted tax credit, and quotes Professor Ventry from his article, "The Accidental Deduction: A History and Critique of the Tax Subsidy for Mortgage Interest," as saying, "over the course of fifty years.. politicians and the housing industry transformed the subsidy into a sacred cow."
