Professor Tang Discusses Affirmative Action for Aoki Center Series
This week, Professor Aaron Tang talked about constitutional law as part of the Aoki Center on Critical Race and Nation Studies series on Critical Perspectives on the 1L curriculum. I had the honor of introducing Professor Tang, who talked about the future of affirmative action.
Professor Tang discussed cases before the Supreme Court challenging race-conscious affirmative action programs at Harvard and the University of North Carolina. He was not optimistic that the Court would find such programs to be constitutional.
Professor Tang offered a thoughtful history of affirmative action and its possible future. Students gained much from hearing his ideas.
