Professor Sunder Named as 'Rising Scholar Under 40' by Diverse

Professor Madhavi Sunder was profiled in an article on "Emerging Scholars: The Class of 2010" in the January 7, 2010 issue of Diverse: Issues in Higher Education magazine.  The "Emerging Scholars" article is an annual feature in the magazine, profiling rising stars in various fields of academia. 

Professor Sunder was identified as one of 12 scholars distinguished by both academic excellence and a commitment to social responsibility, and praised as "one of the nation's leading scholars in the legal regulation of culture."  She describes her work as being "how culture is changing in the 21st century in light of new technology and new social movements in how women, minorities, and gays see themselves and demand to be heard."

Madhavi Sunder is a Professor of Law at King Hall whose special interests include intellectual property, law and culture studies, women's rights, intellectual property in cyberspace, and international intellectual property.
