Professor Soucek Speaks at Georgetown University Law Center

Professor Brian Soucek gave a talk called "Aesthetic Judgment in Law: The Case of Land Use" as part of a panel on “Aesthetics and Land Use” at the Twenty-First Annual Meeting of the Association for the Study of Law, Culture and the Humanities at Georgetown University Law Center on March 16. Soucek was joined by two property scholars, Molly Brady from the University of Virginia and Peter Byrne from Georgetown. Soucek’s talk grew out of his article “Aesthetic Judgment in Law,” 69 Alabama Law Review 381 (2017).

Professor Soucek holds a JD from Yale Law School and a PhD from Columbia University. He has clerked for U.S. District Court Judge Mark. R. Kravitz in Connecticut, and Judge Guido Calabresi of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. His primary teaching and research interests are antidiscrimination law, civil procedure, constitutional law, and refugee/asylum law.
