Professor Simmons on His Term as Academic Senate Chair
Professor of Law Dan Simmons was featured in Dateline UC Davis on his role as chair of the Academic Senate. He described his term as a bumpy but exciting ride. Simmons served as senate chair from 2004-06, and earlier from 1991 to 1993.
The role of the Academic Senate in the University of California is not only unique, but pivotal to the greatness of our institution, he said. Simmons also chaired the University of California Academic Senate from 1994-95 (vice chair, 1993-94).
