Professor Shestowsky Presents Reasearch at AP-LS Conference

Research conducted by Professor Donna Shestowsky with Dr. Gail Goodman of the UC Davis Department of Psychology was presented at the 2010 American Psychology-Law Society (AP-LS) Conference held in Vancouver March 18-20, 2010. 

Their empirical study tested adults' ability to judge accurate reports and denials compared to false reports and denials, and found that adults had greater difficulty correctly identifying false denials.  The title of the talk was "Adults' Difficulties in Detecting False Denials: Implications for Policy and Practice."

Donna Shestowsky, who has both a law degree and a PhD in Psychology, is a Professor at UC Davis School of Law, where she teaches Criminal Law, Negotiation Strategy, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and a seminar in Legal Psychology.  She was the 2007 recipient of the Law School's Distinguished Teaching Award.
