Professor Shestowsky conducts ADR workshop for Psychology-Law Society

Professor Donna Shestowsky,with Professor Deborah Goldfarb of Florida International University, conducted a workshop on alternative dispute resolution at the American Psychology-Law Society’s annual conference in Portland, Ore.

During the half-day March 13 workshop, Shestowsky and Goldfarb reviewed the main alternatives to trials – mediation, arbitration, negotiation - and synthesized key psychological research relating to these procedures.

Donna Shestowsky, who has both a law degree and a Ph.D. in psychology, is director of the Lawyering Skills Education Program, a professor of law and a Martin Luther King, Jr., Research Scholar at UC Davis School of Law. She teaches Criminal Law, Negotiation Strategy, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and a seminar in Legal Psychology, and was the 2007 recipient of the law school's Distinguished Teaching Award.
