Professor Shanske Ranks No. 7 in Tax Law Citations
Professor Darien Shanske is the nation's seventh-most-cited tax law scholar, according to University of Chicago Law School Professor Brian Leiter’s breakout ranking of influential individual scholars in that area of law.
In August, UC Davis Law’s faculty placed 18th on Leiter’s list of “top 50 faculties in scholarly impact” – a four-spot jump since 2021, the last time rankings were compiled.
The 2024 rankings are based on the number of citations to tenured faculty scholarship in law journals from 2019-2023.
Darien Shanske is a professor of law at UC Davis. His academic interests include taxation, particularly state and local taxation, local government law, public finance, and political theory, particularly jurisprudence.
