Professor Shanske Presents on Government Finance

Professor Darien Shanske recently gave presentations on government finance at Belmont University and the University of Houston.

Speaking at Belmont University College of Law’s conference on “The Modern Metropolis: Contemporary Legal Issues in Urban Communities,” Shanske presented his article on “Municipal Finance and Asymmetric Risk” on October 7. At the University of Houston Law Center’s 5th Annual State & Local Government Works-in-Progress Conference on October 8, Shanske presented a paper entitled “Why and How Local Government Finances Should Be Subject to Expert Monitoring.”

Darien Shanske is a Professor of Law at UC Davis. His academic interests include taxation, particularly state and local taxation, local government law, public finance, and political theory, particularly jurisprudence.
