Professor Reynoso to Receive HBA Lifetime Achievement Award
Professor Emeritus Cruz Reynoso, an internationally known civil rights leader and the first Latino to sit on the California Supreme Court, will receive the Hispanic Bar Association of Orange County's Lifetime Achievement Award at the organization's Annual Scholarship Fundraiser and Installation Dinner on March 7 in Anaheim.
A member of the UC Davis School of Law faculty since 2001, Professor Reynoso was part of the incoming Obama administration's Justice and Civil Rights Agency Review Team. He has been awarded the UC Davis Medal, the university's highest honor, and the Law School has established the Cruz & Jeannene Reynoso Scholarship for Legal Access to help students with financial needs.
Also to be honored at the luncheon are Aiden Castillo '11 and Ken Babcock '81. Dean Kevin R. Johnson is expected to attend.
