Professor Reynoso Comments on First Latino ABA President for Law.com
Professor Emeritus Cruz Reynoso commented on the election of Stephen Zack as the first Latino president of the American Bar Association for an article on Law.com.
Professor Reynoso, who was the first Latino to serve on the California Supreme Court, said the time was right for a Latino to lead the ABA. "It's time to recognize that minorities are a true part of this country and can provide leadership, not just for minority groups but for all Americans," he said.
A member of the UC Davis School of Law faculty since 2001, Professor Reynoso is an internationally known civil rights leader and a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor. He has been awarded the UC Davis Medal, the university's highest honor, and the Law School has established the Cruz & Jeannene Reynoso Scholarship for Legal Access to help students with financial needs.
