Professor Reynoso, Babcock '81, Castillo '11 Honored at HBA Event
Professor Emeritus Cruz Reynoso received the Hispanic Bar Association (HBA) of Orange County's Lifetime Achievement award at a March 7 dinner attended by Dean Kevin R. Johnson. Also honored were Kenneth W. Babcock '81, executive director and general counsel of the Public Law Center of Orange County, who received the HBA's Attorney of the Year award, and Aídin Castillo '11, who was named as a 2008 Wally Davis Scholar.
A member of the UC Davis School of Law faculty since 2001, Professor Reynoso is an internationally known civil rights leader and the first Latino to sit on the California Supreme Court. He has been awarded the UC Davis Medal, the university's highest honor, and the Law School has established the Cruz & Jeannene Reynoso Scholarship for Legal Access to help students with financial needs. Professor Reynoso was honored in part for his work with California Rural Legal Assistance.
