Professor Pruitt presents at Rural Sociological Society's annual meeting

Professor Lisa Pruitt gave two presentations at the annual meeting of the Rural Sociological Society, held in late July in Portland, Ore.

One presentation was titled “The Women Feminism Forgot: Rural and Working Class White Women in the Era of Trump,” and the other “Rural Poverty and Access to Justice in California.”

She also organized and moderated the panel “How the Rural West Is Different.”

Pruitt concluded her yearlong term as vice president of the society.

Lisa R. Pruitt, Martin Luther King, Jr. professor at UC Davis School of Law, is a scholar whose recent work explores the legal relevance of rural spatiality, including how it inflects dimensions of gender, race and ethnicity.  Pruitt's work also considers rural-urban difference in transnational and international contexts.
