Professor Pruitt Presents in Morocco
Professor Lisa Pruitt presented at the International Sociological Association Forum of Sociology on July 10 at Mohammed V University in Rabat, Morocco.
Pruitt presentation, based on her recent Yale Law Journal essay, was titled “Legal Deserts, Spatial Inequality, and Criminal Legal Systems: A Study from Rural Washington, USA.” Pruitt co-authored the essay with Washington State University sociology Professors Jennifer Sherman and Jennifer Schwartz.
Distinguished Professor of Law Lisa R. Pruitt is a scholar whose recent work explores the legal relevance of rural spatiality, including how it inflects dimensions of gender, race, and ethnicity. Pruitt's work also considers rural-urban difference in transnational and international contexts. She is the recipient of the law school’s 2020 Distinguished Teaching Award.
