Professor Patel takes part in panel at national NAPABA gathering

On Nov. 5, Professor Menesh Patel participated in a virtual panel, “Preparing the Next Generation of Asian American Lawyers,” at the annual meeting of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA).

The panel brought together professors, law school administrators, and practitioners to discuss a variety of issues such as: (1) How are law students being prepared for practice? (2) What motivates the current generation of law students and new attorneys? (3) Do Asian American law students and new attorneys have distinct needs that are not being addressed by law schools and legal employers? 

The National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) is the national association of Asian Pacific American attorneys, judges, law professors, and law students. The organization represents the interests of almost 50,000 attorneys and more than 80 national, state, and local Asian Pacific American bar associations.

Professor Menesh Patel joined the UC Davis faculty in 2018. His primary research interests include antitrust, corporate law, securities regulation, and capital markets. Prior to UC Davis, he was a fellow at Columbia Law School and Columbia Business School and practiced law at Sidley Austin LLP.
