Professor Patel Presents at American Law and Economics Association Conference

On Oct. 23, Professor Menesh Patel virtually presented a joint antitrust paper with Columbia Law Professor Merritt Fox at the annual conference of the American Law and Economics Association.

The paper addresses the common ownership issue, which inquires whether institutional investors’ concurrent holdings of rival firms diminishes incentives to compete, in violation of antitrust law.

Professor Menesh Patel joined the UC Davis faculty in 2018. His primary research interests include antitrust, corporate law, securities regulation, and capital markets. Before UC Davis, he was a fellow at Columbia Law School and Columbia Business School and practiced law at Sidley Austin LLP.
